Cityscape in the desert

Last weekend I ventured out to Cityscape in downtown Phoenix. Until then, I never had the chance to check out what it had to offer. I figured it was time for a summer wardrobe and a quick glance at the downtown shops.

I headed over to the West of Soho shop first. The shop is a small boutique with very cute clothing and accessories. I, however, came out empty handed. (I am extremely picky about what I wear and the money I spend) The items were all reasonably priced, but I decided they were not for me. But I do recommend it!

I also headed over to Starbucks for a quick drink and rest (being about 106 degrees outside).

Next, I headed over to Urban Outfitters. After wandering around the store for a while, I also decided nothing there was for me. I was disappointed with the shop because I was hoping for a wide selection of cute dresses for the summer, most especially Maxi style dresses, which was the one item I was looking for, but they didn't have much to choose from.

I wandered around Cityscape a bit but decided that it was just too hot after about an hour.

All in all, I think its a great little area to hang out, when the time is right, and summer is not the right time. I do recommend more shaded spots. But the foundation in the middle of the court is nice and cute.

I think I'm more use to stores such as Forever 21 and Ulta. If Cityscape were to open those stores, I'm convinced it would be more popular!

I didn't have a chance to visit Charmin Charlie's, but that will be next on my list if I'm looking for any accessories.

I love Phoenix, and I am happy to see it expanding and growing. It still has a ways to go, but its getting there.

Keep bringing those shops around!

:D

Peace.

And. . . I'm back! With stuff!

Oh my goodness, where did I go???

Oh yes. . . . life. I sort of have a life. Just a teeny little bit of one.

So after many months, I've decided to start up my small blog again, because I actually have been doing things in this hot State I live in.

First off, I've been continuing my love affair with makeup, and I've found a few products that I absolutely adore! Highly recommend them.

1.  Urban Decay 'all nighter' setting spray. This products works wonderfully as a makeup setter. I use it every day and I have not had a break out, even with my sensitive skin. It's wonderful.

2. Tarte 'smooth operator' mineral clay finishing powder. I love love LOVE this product. It's a great makeup setter, eats up excess oil, and gives a nice finish to my skin.

3. Nars cream blush in 'Lokoum'. This color is so nice and perfect for summer. A little dab on the cheeks is all you need. It fits nicely with my caramel skin tone.

4. Mac lipstick in 'Frost'. This is a nice shade for summer. A quick coat is all you need for a nice light look.

5. Loreal Infallible lipstick in 'Enduring Berry'. I like to mix this shade with Mac's 'Frost' for a nice daytime look. You can use a double coat for an evening look.

6. Tarte Vitamin Core lipstick in 'Sweet Dreams'. I bought this product from the Tarte site on sale. I'm not sure if its discontinued, but I was lucky to buy it when I did. It's wonderul! It goes on more like a lip balm. It moisturizes and gives enough color to the lips to make them look classy and plump. I love it.

If you tried any of these products, let me know what you think. And if anyone recommends anything.

Hope you enjoy!

I will be back with additional blogs soon! Including a review of downtown Phoenix Cityscape!

Peace.

February beauty

Phew! Finally an update.

Sorry I've been incognito, but life gets in the way. However, that has not stopped me from adding to my collection of beauty. :D

I finally decided to join Birchbox. After putting it off, I thought - what the hey! I wanted to see what this was all about. I must say my first box is a bit disappointing. I watch tutorials on the british version of Birchbox, Glossybox, and I was expecting something along the lines of those products. The british version tends to carry more stuff in bigger sizes. My first Birchbox only contained a few small samples, definitely not worth the $10 a month they charge. I'll stick it out for a while, but if it doesn't get better I will cancel my subscription.

Aside from my Birchbox, I also purchased the new Naked 2 pallette. :D I absolutely LOVE this pallette. It is much better than the first. I wear it everyday. :D

I also found a bronzer that I adore. It's called "Hotel Heiress" by Tarte. It's a beautiful peachy bronze color, perfect for my darker tan skin, and its catered to sensitive skin, which I have. According to the Tarte product line, it contains Amazonian clay, whatever that means, and is a mineral based powder, fragrance and talc free; perfect. I believe Tarte products are much like Urban Decay in that it tries to be as harmless to skin as possible, but I have to do more research on the line.

I hope everyone had a beautiful Valentines Day. It was my mother's birthday and I surprised her with a cake and flowers. :D

Happy February and enjoy the weeks to come! :D

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy new year to everyone!

I'm so excited for this new year. Start fresh.

This past year was absolutely bonkers. Transitiong from one company to another was one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. When your company that you have worked for, for over 10 years, gets sold, it is a shock! Systems are different, but luckily people are the same. We are still in transition, but all my fingers and toes are crossed that this year will be so very good to us.

I haven't made any resolutions, but I have promised myself to have a positive outlook on things, more or less. Laugh and smile more. Don't sweat the small stuff, as they say.

Here's praying and hoping that the new year has many blessings for all!

:D

Take care.

M.I.A.

Apologies. I have been M.I.A. for a while now. Lots going on during these last months of 2011. Work is nuts, but that's nothing new. I'm still getting my studies done as well. So that eats up my time.

I have been getting out there! :D I managed to check a movie and some shows.

Real Steel, which I must say, I absolutely LOVED. I know people were making fun of it, calling it "Rock em Sock em robots", but it is nothing like that. It was endearing and very enjoyable. The story line was solid, and the action was perfect. Hugh Jackman is always great. :D This is definitely a fun family movie. I probably enjoyed this than any other movie recently.

I recently started watching the new U.S. version of X Factor, and I like it! :D I have catched a few episodes of the U.K. version, which was really good, and the U.S. version is better right now I must say. I missed Paula and Simon! My favorite contestants are Marcus and Drew. GO!

Homeland, a new series on Showtime, has enthralled me. I LOVE this show. It's suspenseful, and has a stellar cast. The handsome Damian Lewis and 90s gal Claire Danes. Both are awesome in this show. I believe its based on a European version of the series. It's created by a couple of X-Files series alumni, Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa, so of course its SPECTACULAR. :D I expect no less from those guys.

I'm also really enjoying the new season of Dexter. Last season was a bit dry.

I want to say congratulations to a couple of my friend's who are expecting children. :D

Also, one of my dear friends and co-workers just passed away. I miss her. She was one of a kind. RIP dear lady.

Life goes on. . . and I will blog more in the days to come. :D

paging Dr. Quinn . . .

LOOK at what I ordered! :D

Yes. That's right! It's Dr. Michaela Quinn and company. I just ordered the complete series. :D

Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman was one of my absolute favorite shows back in the 90s. Wholesome, adventuresome, romantic, and SEXY! (Joe Lando, anyone?)

I miss shows like this.

If you've never seen it, give it a chance. It's great entertainment.
