Bargain deals at Target

I went to my favorite store, Target, in search of some bargains on dressy tops. I found a couple of deals. Check it out below.

The two shirts were on clearance, and I had a $10.00 Target gift card from their previous "Spend $50 and get a $10 gift card" deal (no longer available). The amount of the two clearance shirts totaled $11.43 with tax. Minus the $10 gift card, I paid a total of $1.43. You can't beat that! :-D

Love it!

Christmas Christmas time is here. . .

Ok. Not yet. But with all the Christmas products piled in the stores it seems so. Where did Thanksgiving go you might ask? I wish store buyers would actually take the time to celebrate Thanksgiving first. When the Christmas music starts, its on!

Target seems to think its Christmas. I do love their holiday decor. It's always so fun to wander in that area.

Back to Thanksgiving. I remembered what holiday is coming up and purchased a few items for Thanksgiving day. The turkey, ham, and all the fixings. I wish Thanksgiving had the same kind of fancy hoopla Christmas does. Some twinkling lights will make a dinner much better. But Thanksgiving isn't about that. And that's the point.

I love Thanksgiving.

Trader Joe's seasonal purchases

Pumpkins! Everyone loves pumpkins! Who doesn't love pumpkins?? And who doesn't love to eat things with pumpkin in it? Certainly not me! Which would explain why I went crazy with the seasonal pumpkin purchases at Trader Joe's. Well, not too crazy.

My purchases:

The store had these delicious Pumpkin macaroons as samples. My mother and I tasted it and they were so delicious. I bought a box. Might have to go back for more.

I just had to purchase these two items. I love the Pumpkin butter on some English muffins in the morning. So good. I've never tried the Pumpkin pancake and waffle mix, but I'm sure its delicious.

Another thing I saw was the Trader Joe's pumpkin spice coffee, but since I've sworn off coffee, I had to turn away, though it was painful.

Can't wait to enjoy all my delicious treats!

Allergies

I've suffered from allergies pretty much my whole life, but its progressed with each year. I'm not sure what factors are completely involved in it but I believe it's the ever changing weather and the population boost in Phoenix. I've heard from several people who have moved here that they are now suffering from allergies whereas they never suffered from them before. I would like to better understand this phenomena, but I think its pretty simple: Weather and pollution. I have seen a doctor for my allergies and have been prescribed a few things, and the medications that works best for me are Prednisone and SingularWhile these medications work, they do have potential side effects. I sometimes get headaches and nauseousness with the Singular. I haven't experienced anything outstanding with the Prednisone but I don't take it as much as the Singular and I also tend to take both medications at night before bed. Never at the same time though. I was also prescribed a nasal spray that I use for days when its not so tough, but I could use a little help. I've also been told by a nurse that the over the counter medication, Zyrtec, works well. I have yet to try it but I probably will someday considering the price of some medication. I also find that having an air purifier running in the room, especially at night, helps with allergies. It cleanses the air of any nasty pollution. This also helps for asthma, which I also suffer from.

Suffering from allergies is a big bummer as it tends to be year round. If anyone knows of any good allergy medications, please let me know, or share your diagnosis.

Starbucks seasonal treats

Tis the season for fall Starbucks drinks.

Starbucks has once again opened their fall menu by offering their delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte and Salted Caramel Frappuccino drinks. I don't drink straight coffee anymore because of stomach problems, but I do enjoy their frappuccino drinks made with soy instead of milk and teas all year round. Frappuccinos are always a special treat for me. They are at the top of my cheat list. I can't wait for Christmas time when they offer their delicious Caramel Apple Spice drink. It's my favorite.

MUST WATCH!

If you are an animal lover, specifically a dog lover, you MUST watch the documentary on HBO "One Nation Under Dog". I can't describe how honest and heartwrenching it is. You simply must watch it.

My personal feelings are so deep, it will take more than a post to express them. I just hope something is done, and soon, about this problem.

This documentary made me hug and kiss my babies even more.

Cityscape in the desert

Last weekend I ventured out to Cityscape in downtown Phoenix. Until then, I never had the chance to check out what it had to offer. I figured it was time for a summer wardrobe and a quick glance at the downtown shops.

I headed over to the West of Soho shop first. The shop is a small boutique with very cute clothing and accessories. I, however, came out empty handed. (I am extremely picky about what I wear and the money I spend) The items were all reasonably priced, but I decided they were not for me. But I do recommend it!

I also headed over to Starbucks for a quick drink and rest (being about 106 degrees outside).

Next, I headed over to Urban Outfitters. After wandering around the store for a while, I also decided nothing there was for me. I was disappointed with the shop because I was hoping for a wide selection of cute dresses for the summer, most especially Maxi style dresses, which was the one item I was looking for, but they didn't have much to choose from.

I wandered around Cityscape a bit but decided that it was just too hot after about an hour.

All in all, I think its a great little area to hang out, when the time is right, and summer is not the right time. I do recommend more shaded spots. But the foundation in the middle of the court is nice and cute.

I think I'm more use to stores such as Forever 21 and Ulta. If Cityscape were to open those stores, I'm convinced it would be more popular!

I didn't have a chance to visit Charmin Charlie's, but that will be next on my list if I'm looking for any accessories.

I love Phoenix, and I am happy to see it expanding and growing. It still has a ways to go, but its getting there.

Keep bringing those shops around!

:D

Peace.

And. . . I'm back! With stuff!

Oh my goodness, where did I go???

Oh yes. . . . life. I sort of have a life. Just a teeny little bit of one.

So after many months, I've decided to start up my small blog again, because I actually have been doing things in this hot State I live in.

First off, I've been continuing my love affair with makeup, and I've found a few products that I absolutely adore! Highly recommend them.

1.  Urban Decay 'all nighter' setting spray. This products works wonderfully as a makeup setter. I use it every day and I have not had a break out, even with my sensitive skin. It's wonderful.

2. Tarte 'smooth operator' mineral clay finishing powder. I love love LOVE this product. It's a great makeup setter, eats up excess oil, and gives a nice finish to my skin.

3. Nars cream blush in 'Lokoum'. This color is so nice and perfect for summer. A little dab on the cheeks is all you need. It fits nicely with my caramel skin tone.

4. Mac lipstick in 'Frost'. This is a nice shade for summer. A quick coat is all you need for a nice light look.

5. Loreal Infallible lipstick in 'Enduring Berry'. I like to mix this shade with Mac's 'Frost' for a nice daytime look. You can use a double coat for an evening look.

6. Tarte Vitamin Core lipstick in 'Sweet Dreams'. I bought this product from the Tarte site on sale. I'm not sure if its discontinued, but I was lucky to buy it when I did. It's wonderul! It goes on more like a lip balm. It moisturizes and gives enough color to the lips to make them look classy and plump. I love it.

If you tried any of these products, let me know what you think. And if anyone recommends anything.

Hope you enjoy!

I will be back with additional blogs soon! Including a review of downtown Phoenix Cityscape!

Peace.

February beauty

Phew! Finally an update.

Sorry I've been incognito, but life gets in the way. However, that has not stopped me from adding to my collection of beauty. :D

I finally decided to join Birchbox. After putting it off, I thought - what the hey! I wanted to see what this was all about. I must say my first box is a bit disappointing. I watch tutorials on the british version of Birchbox, Glossybox, and I was expecting something along the lines of those products. The british version tends to carry more stuff in bigger sizes. My first Birchbox only contained a few small samples, definitely not worth the $10 a month they charge. I'll stick it out for a while, but if it doesn't get better I will cancel my subscription.

Aside from my Birchbox, I also purchased the new Naked 2 pallette. :D I absolutely LOVE this pallette. It is much better than the first. I wear it everyday. :D

I also found a bronzer that I adore. It's called "Hotel Heiress" by Tarte. It's a beautiful peachy bronze color, perfect for my darker tan skin, and its catered to sensitive skin, which I have. According to the Tarte product line, it contains Amazonian clay, whatever that means, and is a mineral based powder, fragrance and talc free; perfect. I believe Tarte products are much like Urban Decay in that it tries to be as harmless to skin as possible, but I have to do more research on the line.

I hope everyone had a beautiful Valentines Day. It was my mother's birthday and I surprised her with a cake and flowers. :D

Happy February and enjoy the weeks to come! :D

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy new year to everyone!

I'm so excited for this new year. Start fresh.

This past year was absolutely bonkers. Transitiong from one company to another was one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. When your company that you have worked for, for over 10 years, gets sold, it is a shock! Systems are different, but luckily people are the same. We are still in transition, but all my fingers and toes are crossed that this year will be so very good to us.

I haven't made any resolutions, but I have promised myself to have a positive outlook on things, more or less. Laugh and smile more. Don't sweat the small stuff, as they say.

Here's praying and hoping that the new year has many blessings for all!

:D

Take care.
